WHAT WE DO

People who can benefit from an IAMAZEBRA improv event include: patient support groups,  family support groups, disease specific advocacy groups, university medical/health professional programs; medical/health professional advocacy groups, professional advocacy groups, healthcare systems staff & administrators, researchers, legislators, insurers/payers, pharmaceutical/DME, providers

Participants enhance skills in communication, relationship-building, collaborative decision-making and resilience, practice these skills in a safe, low stakes and fun environment and create plans to apply these skills in their own healthcare experiences and environment. 

IAMAZEBRA trainers / players include those with experience as a professional improviser, director and producer working in the education of theater professionals; a health professional with experience as a clinician, researcher and educator as well as in improv and performance, including a certificate in advanced medical improv; a healthcare professional faculty member, researcher and educator; all IAMAZEBRA trainers / players have extensive experience in curriculum development; CVs can be provided with proposals.

Each IAMAZEBRA event is custom designed after consultation with group organizers, Participants in workshops (1-8hrs) interactively engage in several improv games (learning activities), collective reflection and facilitated debriefing; may include, as appropriate, performance pieces by IAMAZEBRA staff and presentation of evidence. Performance pieces are either bespoke productions for an audience designated by client, or a current piece tailored to a client's needs. Social events - Improv Connections - are improv games facilitated within a social setting (of healthcare stakeholders) designed for participants to simply be entertained and bond with their peers on a basic human level. 

IAMAZEBRA workshops have garnered accreditation from several state licensing boards within rehabilitation professions. IAMAZEBRA will work with clients to garner accreditation from states and/or professional organizations as part of engagement.
